Step 1 — Admin opens the three-dot menu on a course
Step 2a — Pending copy row appears — title auto-selected, ready to rename
Step 2b — Admin has typed a new name; ready to Save
Design notes — ABT-47217
- Step 1 — "Use for next cycle" appears in the three-dot menu after "Edit properties" and before the separator. Only visible on Course rows. The "New" callout is a prototype annotation, not part of the real UI.
- Step 2a — A new pending copy row appears at the bottom of the list. The title renders as an editable input, pre-filled with "Copy of [Source name]" and auto-selected so the admin can immediately type to replace it. Start, End, Subscribe/Enroll, and Notify are all editable and copied from the source. Status is locked to Inactive.
- Step 2b — Admin has typed a new name (e.g., "IT Security Awareness 2026"). The input shows the typed value in its idle (unfocused) state. The row still shows the "Pending copy" badge — the deep copy hasn't run yet.
- Editable fields in pending state — Title, Start, End, Subscribe/Enroll, and Notify are all editable before Save, per story AC. Status is locked to Inactive (the new entity doesn't exist yet). Three-dot menu is unavailable until after Save.
- Title input design — Uses Oswald font to match existing collection name styling. Has a visible border (1px #dfe0e3) and blue focus ring. No separate confirm/cancel — the row-level Save is the commit point.
- Pending copy badge — A small grey label indicating the deep copy hasn't executed yet. The copy (Course + all content items with new entity IDs) is triggered when the admin clicks Save.
- Row background — The pending copy row has a subtle blue-tinted background (#fafcff) to distinguish it from saved rows.
- After Save — The deep copy executes with the admin-supplied title (or "Copy of [Source]" if left unchanged). The badge disappears and the row becomes a fully editable saved component, Inactive by default.
- Expected workflow — Admin clicks "Use for next cycle" → pending row appears → rename, adjust Start/End/Subscribe/Notify as needed → Save → review content items → set previous cycle to Inactive → set new cycle to Active → Save.
